Basically, using a website is a gamble.
Sometimes the provided address or link doesn’t work – one or more of the address characters has been mistyped (by a
human).

The response from the web site is slow and the hourglass (or similar) is spinning…. Especially annoying after you
have bought an item and you are waiting for the confirmation that the purchase has gone through.

Sometimes the code web page is sending each character/click that you make to the server – so if the connection is
slow, each character typed may cause a short delay to occur – e.g. Quordle.

The host server reports an error – but it is not understandable by most people reading it!

Give us a message that is easily followed!

I got this error at the weekend – so I can’t start to ask what went wrong until Monday.
Apart from not being able to give the 24-character reference correctly, the message from the company would proba-
bly be…. “Please try again”
