This software is free – which can mean that it might be ‘less than perfect’ – however, it is high quality and in the many
years I have been using it, I haven’t found a problem.
There are a few quirks – but nothing serious.
You might find a system cheaper – but the cameras may not be ‘brilliant’ and the storage might be limited.

Pi Zero - Built in WiFi – just needs a power cable. This is OK for one camera. If you save lots of images / movies – it will
be slow.

Pi 4 - Like the smaller Zero - Built in WIFI – just needs a power cable. More powerful, can handle more cameras etc.

This free software is the WHOLE operating system – it is not an app that runs under Windows / Android / Linux
It is based on Linux, but this camera software is the only app that runs on this system.
