Now the system -

1. Relatively cheap
2. Under your control (pretty much)
3. You decide about upgrades

4. Support is pretty good – for a free software system
5. Pretty easy to add extra cameras (but you may need the larger PI system)
6. Can see live feed

7. But it might take time to set up and requires some knowledge

You can use almost any USB camera – if you have one to hand – or other cameras as I have done.
