The correct enclosure is needed to house your M2 card. They come in both NVMe and NGFF varieties – and they are not
interchangeable. You may be able to get a universal enclosure now, so check.
I followed the procedure as shown above. It is debatable whether you put the original in the housing and the new one on
the motherboard or vice versa. I followed the above technique as proposed on the Acronis forums after problems, with suc-
cess. The YouTube video below does it the other way round and it works there. Try either – other cloning software may be
different.
If you are fitting an M2 card from scratch, then you would just install your operating system as normal.
Whatever the arrangement – you will find the computer boots blisteringly quick.
