Second up, it was a pleasure to introduce Mick Hibbins, another engineer with a wealth of knowledge and
talent who honed his skills at Master Foods where his reputation as a mechanical engineer was in no doubt.
Mick on retirement immersed himself in CAD and was soon snapped up by the engineering department of
Loughborough University where a group of scientific boffins were wrestling with the forerunners of the elec-
tric car batteries. These early designs of fuel cell being developed needed to have a practical hand in putting
design into practice – this is where Mick and his team came in. The London Olympics had taxi cabs fitted
with these fuel cells for transporting people to and from the various venues with a great deal of success.
