There is a wealth of information available and there is even an App for your smart phone.
Never get caught out again without your brolly.
Steve Orrell likes to relax with a nostalgic delve into the world of British rail and a fond memory of being
chased out of Railway engine sheds in the pursuit of that elusive locomotive number – happy days.
Steve’s first offering was a site that specialised old railway lines.
www.railmaponline.com.
RailMapOnline is a free website that aims to provide an interactive map of all historic railways for the UK and
US. The UK map is mostly finished, although there's always room for improvement. The US map is a work in
progress, and will take many years to complete.
The comprehensive website offers you a look into the past – pre Beeching and see where you used to be able
to travel to and from.
Up next were some railway related YouTube videos that put you right in the driving seat of a railway cab.
Drivers eye videos offer a unique look into the railway network often giving a view of lines only seen from
the goods train driver’s viewpoint.
