chine Learning uses Data Mining techniques and other learning algorithms to build models of what is hap-
pening behind some data so that it can predict future outcomes.

Barry explained that Ai appears in pretty well all walks of life from retail logistics through to Tesla pilotless
cars – albeit wit ha few technical hitches along the way. In fact AI is used pretty well everywhere from
home to industry. All these systems are gathering huge amounts of data to get Human-Like results quickly
            and efficiently.

We produce 2.5 exabytes of data every day. That’s equivalent to 250,000 Libraries of Congress or the con-
tent of 5 million laptops. Every minute of every day 3.2 billion global internet users continue to feed the
data banks with 9,722 pins on Pinterest, 347,222 tweets, 4.2 million Facebook likes plus ALL the other data
we create by taking pictures and videos, saving documents, opening accounts and more.

This data is 2 years old… so the numbers have increased…

The next step is Quantum computing (a topic for the future?) and the ability to process huge amounts of
            data.

But with all this mind blowing technology, perhaps with a few more members, we will be able to work it
            all out in our heads.

            6. Secretary’s Report
Dave started his report by thanking everybody for their contributions in making the last year a success. He
thanked the committee for again putting on an interesting and varied programme. Hopefully everybody
found it interesting and maybe even learnt something on the way. Topics covered last year included
Chrome Books, Photo Management and Password protection.

Another successful Photographic Competition closed 2019 and attracted an excellent array of photographs
spanning the six categories. The entries were again of a very high standard and thanks to everyone who en-
tered and made it a fun evening. Well done to Bob Eagle for taking the best photo award. The members
received some very valuable constructive criticism from guest judges Arthur Payne and Trevor Greaves.
Dave thanked everyone who entered to make it a successful evening. Thanks also to Bob Eagle for select-
            ing our 6 categories.

Dave thanked David Brown on behalf of the members, for organising our Christmas Dinner.

The new programme for 2020 is taking shape but we are always looking for new ideas and presenters. Dave
requested that if anybody had a particular computer related topic or new software, please come along and
share your experiences with the club.
